The Equality and Tolerance Days Association was set up in April 2010 in Poznań as a vehicle for the realisation of the ideas that have been driving the organisers of the Equality and Tolerance Days (ETD). The ETD Organising Committee, who have worked as an informal group since 2004, decided to establish the Equality and Tolerance Days Association (ETDA) to be more effective in their efforts to promote equality and tolerance.
The aims of the Equality and Tolerance Days Association, as provided for in its Charter, include the following:
to prevent discrimination, in particular discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, social status or health,
to promote legal and actual equality of all people, whatever their gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, social status or health,
to increase the social representation of excluded groups or groups vulnerable to exclusion,
to promote the idea of multicultural society,
to prevent any forms of physical and psychological violence, in particular based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, social status or health,
to develop tolerant attitudes and break down prejudice and stereotypes.
